About Us

Our talented and passionate team is dedicated to supporting entrepreneurship and affordable homeownership.

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) was formed in 1990 by national, regional and local organizations to increase the flow of private capital into traditionally underserved communities. Today, NCRC has grown into an association of nearly 800 community-based organizations nationwide that promote access to basic banking services, affordable housing, entrepreneurship and job creation. The NCRC Community Development Fund (CDF) was launched in 2007 with the mission to bridge the nation’s racial wealth divide. NCRC CDF provides access to capital not available through traditional financial institutions, as well as access to business training services. NCRC CDF also accelerates creation of affordable housing by providing developers with financial incentives to build in neighborhoods historically underserved. NCRC CDF is a U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution.
Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) have a mission to expand economic opportunity in traditionally underserved communities by providing access to financial products and services. A CDFI can be a bank, credit union, loan fund, microloan fund or venture capital provider. The U.S. Treasury Department oversees CDFI and manages the CDFI Fund, which disburses money to the approximately 1,000 CDFIs in operation throughout the U.S. today.
